iDig: Network

These are some of the most brilliant parts of this movie.

There are others.

It's amazing how prophetic this movie is. Just so happens I was born that year.

The HOTTEST party of the year!

video

No really. That is not a fog machine. That's body heat and sweat.

Kareem Black invited me out last night and I obliged because I had gotten a little work done, so it was guilt-free good times ahead. Soon as I walked in it hit me...

video

This was literally the HOTTEST party I have ever been to. I was upset that I showered before I left home. Somehow the sweat and sawdustiness would have been okay. The night went on to another place WITH A.C.

Happiness ensued. And sake.

Good China...

I saw this posted on my friend Hunter's Facebook page and it is surely another one of those things that I wish I thought of.

This is incredibly dope. Some great art is coming out of the east.

Read more about it here

I have some photos from Art basel a couple of years ago when Art Asia was happening. This is the beginning of my exposure to some great art out of the east.

I am really impressed with the technical quality and thinking of the stuff happening over there.

Flashback: Here is another post of mine.

How do you see all of Paris in 15 minutes?

Remember when I ran into Saul Williams on the Canal in Paris last week? Well we exchanged info and I called him the next day. So we met up at his place for coffee and a dialogue. As I was walking over, it stormed like I had never seen in Paris. So my canvas Vans, socks and pants were completely soaked. When I get to his apt he says to me, "You got caught out there huh?" I took off my shoes and socks and he asked me if I needed anything. Towel, shirt? I say "Actually, if you have some shorts I can wear that would be great." He obliged.

I am literally sitting at his house now in a pair of his shorts drinking coffee and laughing. If there is ever way to let your guard down in someone else's house, being barefoot and in their gym shorts is a good way to start. All the while they are fully dressed.

I had never seen an apt like this in Paris. Big and colorful loft. Nothing short of what I would have expected of S.W. Reminded me of my old Bushwick apt. But I had 2 sides of windows. This apt has 3 sides of windows and it's on the top floor. We sat and talked for a few hours.

I get up and walk over to a window once the sky began to clear a little to take a look at his view. He asked what size shoe that I wore. He then walks over to his closet, and gives me a pair of his sneakers that may fit and he says "I want to show you something." I took my camera out of my bag because I was gonna take some pictures from the window. He looked at me and "Good idea."

We walk up to his roof. These are the views from the roof. It was a little hard to talk with my jaw dragging the ground.

The Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides on the left of it. This is the burial ground of Napoleon Bonaparte.

So to answer the question,
Q) How do you see all of Paris in 15 mins?
A) Simply walk up to Saul's roof.

Blue Note's Adventures...Paris

Blue has a new hobby and it's travel. That may seem obvious since she is a bicycle. But now that means outside of her native NYC. Of course I will be chaperoning...
Meet her here.

Face to Face.

There is one person that moved me to write poetry. His name is Saul Williams. Back in 2001 Demterious and I had a chance to meet him at his loft in LA. We had dinner and chatted about hip hop and Eminem at the time. It was a great experience for me.

Fast forward a few years and his new book had come out and I went to see him speak ad perform in Harlem. He remembered me then from the dinner in LA.

Fast forward a few more years, I am walking along Canal St. Martin in Paris with my lady and her mom, and I spot this guy sitting. We gave each other the look of familiarity and walked up and dapped and hugged. I introduced him to Sofia. (She knows much about Saul as I have talked much about him. Our second date I believe I cooked dinner for her and read his poetry to her...That was a good nite.) But I told him how I had block for a little while until I re:read Dead Emcee Scrolls. It all came rushing out.

Coming face to face again with your inspiration is very rare. But by no means a coincindence. I don't believe in coincidence...

I got stanima...

Sometimes and sometimes that's often- that I use the word 'Brilliant' to describe something. Times like these I wish I could take them all back.

I was just talking with some friends of mine in the ATL about Waka Flocka - As in "what kind of dumb ass name is that? Waka Flocka"

*note* the video above is not the film itself. It is a promo and announcement video for the kickstarter funding project.

Film-makers, creatives, and geeks from around the globe, be apart of this project, back us. This is a joint effort!

----------
Overview:

This video is a teaser for a collaboration between Philip Bloom and Deltree, The first film ever to be shot on an iPhone. Brilliantly shot using the latest technology, the film will showcase revolution of HD film-making with the Apple iPhone 4.

Couple of technical notes:
Rig was a quick pass at mounting- this is not the final rig. We mounted it onto a redrock mattebox. Not for the looks but because it was the best way we could gel/ND the iPhone.

Because we were rushed we had to shoot in broad daylight- not ideal when we cant control shutter/exposure.

For behind the scenes pics: phillip bloom's blog link

Why we are doing this:
Because its going to be done, we went to do it really well. We think it is important to showcase to the world the ongoing revolution of digital film-making techniques.

Not only that, it’s a well written story.

Music is "Tornado" by Jonsi- buy here: http://tiny.cc/or7r9

I am inspired by the use of tools available.
