HKG Day 1 & 2

I am in Hong Kong with my fiancé Sofia. The flight here was long but not that bad. With the exception of the guy next to me with pub bathroom like breath.

And he just kept looking out of the window over and over breathing in my face. I mean reaching over and lifting the shade and all breathing in my face. That was the only thing that made me jealous of Sofia up in biz class.

She is here for business so I tagged along. These are surely the perks of the ad game. So I get them by association.

We arrived and took the train to the island to take a taxi to the hotel.

We arrive at the hotel during the afternoon but I didn't get much sleep on the plane the last 5 hours like I had planned. That was hard to do with so many movies to watch. I honestly thought an afternoon workout would help with some energy. It didn't.

So after we found a place to have dinner, I was fading fast. I was damn near sleep eating. Sof was surely annoyed with me and my "fading" behavior. Hehe.

We crashed once back in the room. Or should I say I crashed. Sof was dealing with AT&T.

Yesterday we took a trip out to Lamma Island. We walked from the hotel to the pier. Looking at the map we figured it's not that far. Someone told us that this wasn't a walking city but we are from NYC. That's what we do! Well distance wasn't the problem. It wasn't far at all. We started walking and,"Ohhhh that's what they meant by this not being a walking city." We realized walking there pretty quickly that the city was not very pedestrian friendly.

Once we arrived at the pier we took a ferry across to Lamma.

Imagine how big this cargo boat is if these are train carts.

We get to Lamma and it's beautiful. Sofia told me we were gonna hike. I'm thinking we walk to the hike. I didn't know that the walk WAS the hike.

After about the first 10 mins walking we decided to stop and chill for a bit at the beach.

There are a lot of rules.

Basically, no fun allowed. haha.

The people here seem to be unaware of the season. Or they don't care. I saw lots of knee high boots and denim on the beach. Fur vests and fur hats as well. Kind of bizarre. Almost NO bikinis on the beach.I saw one. The pot belly British dude didn't count.

We chilled. Then we set off for the rest of the hike. The sign said 50 mins til we reach destination. Word?

The hike was not hard but it was no walk in the park either unless that walk is up a mountain.

There were some beautiful sights walking up though.

Almost there...

We made it. Let's reward ourselves.

After we made it back to the room we found a cute little treat. For some reason Sofia brought my ugly doll.

I got this in a gift bag someone sent me while I was in the hospital a few years back. It's home is in my meditation chair at home in my bedroom.

Housekeeping did this for us...

She actually stood it up on the bed. Haha.

The day was long. We were gonna go to have drinks with Sofia's co-workers. That didn't happen once Sofia decided to take a nap beforehand. That turned into bedtime at 8:30.

We were up at 12 again so she could work.

Day 3... Stay tuned.
